Clearwater bicyclist, 79, dies 11 days after crash
A 79-year-old man died Thursday from injuries inflicted when his bicycle was struck by a car 11 days earlier in Clearwater, police said. Charles Arthur Crone, of Clearwater, was riding his bicycle on Sunset Point Road at Point Road on June 2 when he was struck, police said. Crone, of 2430 Florentine Way, Unit 14, had a helmet but was not wearing it at the time of the crash, investigators said. He was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center.A police spokesman said the driver of the car was Iracema Vale Drysdale, 79, of Clearwater. No charges have been filed in the incident.
