Bradenton boy, 3, suffers gunshot wound to knee outside home
A 3-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the knee Monday night while alone outside a Bradenton residence. Deputies say five adults were in the residence at 625 61st Ave E, #A, when they heard a gunshot outside the home. They went outside and found Kevin Davis Jr. lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the knee, with a gun located next to him, deputies say. The adults called 911, and Davis was treated at All Children’s Hospital and is expected to fully recover, deputies said.Manatee County Sheriff's spokesman Dave Bristow said the adults in the house told detectives that the boy shot himself and that it was an accident. "They're saying they had no idea where he got the gun," Bristow said. Crimes Against Children is investigating.
