Bicyclist hospitalized after St. Pete Beach crash

A bicyclist was badly hurt this afternoon after he was hit by a car in St. Pete Beach this afternoon, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

About 1:33 p.m., Adam Keehnle, 27, of Seminole was crossing Blind Pass Road at 77th Avenue in a crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound Toyota Scion driven by James A Kingsley, 40, 239 1/2 17 Ave. N., St. Petersburg.

Keehnle was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Kingsley was not injured.

The investigation is continuing, but no criminal charges are pending, deputies said.
