Whole Foods' north Tampa store opens Nov. 1
Whole Foods, a natural and organic grocery store, will open its north Tampa location on Nov. 1, officials announced on Monday. The grand opening will feature a free continental breakfast at 8 a.m., entertainment from the Gaither High School band and cheerleaders and a bread breaking ceremony. The store, at 3802 Northdale Blvd., will open at 9 a.m. with activities and food samplings planned for every department throughout the day. The Carrollwood-Northdale store is the second Whole Foods in the Tampa area and the 18th store in Florida.A weekend job fair held to fill about 150 positions at the store drew 800 applicants. "Ever since we announced this store, the Carrollwood and Northdale communities have been so gracious and wonderful to work with while we've made preparations for opening," said Shanti Walls, store team leader of the new location. "With Thanksgiving and the holiday season just around the corner, we're eager to raise the bar this year on holiday entertaining and also give a little back to the community that has given us such a warm welcome." Those wanting a sneak preview of the store can get a tour with tastings and giveaways on Oct. 29. To attend, sign up at carrollwood.wholefoodsrsvp.com.
