Publix buys two Tampa Bay plazas in which it’s already the anchor

Publix is the new owner of eight Florida shopping centers in which its stores were already the anchors.

Two of those plazas are in Tampa Bay: One in Largo and the other in Valrico.

DDRM Properties sold nine properties total to the Lakeland-based grocery chain. The portfolio includes one store in Georgia and more than 732,000 square feet of retail space.

The terms of the sale were not disclosed. Madison International Realty, a real estate private equity firm in New York, announced the sale on Friday.

The Valrico center is at 3461 Lithia Pinecrest Road and includes a UPS store, shops and salons. The Largo center, at 10801 Starkey Road, is a Publix GreenWise Market and has an HSN discount store and Bealls Outlet among small businesses on its property.

One of the other plazas included in the sale is nearby in Bradenton.
