Publix Super Markets Inc. is accelerating an expansion into the Carolinas with a purchase of seven stores in North and South Carolina from Bi-Lo Holdings LLC, the parent company of the BI-LO and Winn-Dixie brand grocery stores.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The exact dates of renovations and re-openings as Publix stores will depend on the scope of individual site, the company said. The locations include:

Publix already has 1,073 stores, but has been expanding from its home base of Florida, with new locations in Georgia, Tennessee and Carolina.
North Carolina is the most-requested state for expansion, said Publix Spokesman Brian west. The company’s first store in North Carolina was announced in September 2012, and will be in the Charlotte suburb of Ballantyne. It is set to open next year.
