TAMPA — Port Tampa Bay has named Gonzalo Padron as its new director of marketing and business development for Latin America.
Padron has over 20 years of experience in the maritime and trade sector, including with DHL Forwarding, Datamyne, PIERS, Seaboard Marine, and Tecmarine, according to the port. Padron is bilingual and has a strong background in trade data analysis and account management.
His responsibilities for the port will include acting as liaison with beneficial cargo owners and ocean carriers, focusing on trade with Latin America.
Port Director Paul Anderson is working to build more cargo business through Latin America and just this week held a forum at the port for local businesses to discuss how to boost business between here and Panama.
