Gov. Rick Scott appointed Gregory Celestan to the Tampa Port Authority.
Celestan, 51, of Lithia, is the CEO of Celestar Corp. A retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army, Celestan currently serves as a board member for Bank of Tampa and was chairman of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.
He has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and his master’s degree from the University of Washington.
He succeeds Lawrence Shipp Jr. The term began today and will end Nov. 25. The appointment is subject to approval by the Florida Senate.
