Duke outage leaves 3,700 without power in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — Up to 3,770 customers lost power in a Thursday night outage, according to Duke Energy.

The outage impacted a sliver of customers moving southeast to northwest parallel to Tyrone Boulevard, according to Duke’s online outage map, extending from Central Avenue to the Tyrone Square Mall.

The utility said the outage, first reported at 6:35 p.m., was caused by damage to its equipment.

The company estimated power would be restored by 10 p.m.
