Across the United States, cities and metro areas are in a frenzied bidding war to convince Amazon their regions are the best fit for its new headquarters, HQ2.
The Tampa Bay area is no exception.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman appear in a promotional video as part of the region's proposal to discuss why Tampa Bay is the best place for the nation's largest retailer.
"It's always a pleasure to sit with my partner across the bay, Mayor Buckhorn, and talk about the economic strength and beauty of our region," Kriseman said in the video. "This video highlights that strength and is a powerful statement about how we are stronger together. Tampa Bay can compete with any city or region in the world."
Pinellas and Hillsborough counties joined forces in the bid and sent out their regional proposal on Oct. 13. Amazon says it will make its final decision sometime in 2018.
Another six videos from "Team Tampa Bay" will be rolled out over the course of the next two weeks, with testimonials from various business, government, and community leaders.
The videos can be viewed on Pinellas Economic Development's Facebook page.
