Woman in serious condition after shooting at Valrico home
Hillsborough County deputies are investigating a shooting in Valrico early this morning in which a woman drove herself to a hospital with at least one gunshot wound. Deputies responded at 1:41 a.m. to multiple shots fired outside the residence at 4816 Copper Canyon Blvd. Deputies say Carmen Denise Dean, 42, was shot at least once while in or near her car in the driveway, then drove herself to Brandon Regional Hospital for emergency treatment. She was transported to Tampa General Hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition, deputies said.Detectives say a clear motive has not been established, but it does not appear to be a random shooting. Her husband, Frederick Dean, is being cooperative and is not being labeled as a suspect at this time, deputies said. An investigation is ongoing. Stay with TBO.com for updates.
