Two killed in Tampa crash involving motorcycle, scooter
A Sunday night crash involving a motorcycle and scooter left both drivers dead, according to the Tampa Police Department. Shortly after 9 p.m., David Troy Hood, 41, was driving a 1986 Kawasaki northbound on Causeway Boulevard at a high rate of speed. After cresting a bridge he collided with a much slower 2012 VIP Scooter driven by Angel Felipe, 54, of Tampa, police said. Hood and a passenger, 31-year-old Amanda Rae Sarmiento of Tampa, were ejected from the motorcycle and airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where Hood died a short time later. Sarmiento is listed in critical condition, police said.Tampa Fire Rescue pronounced Felipe dead at the scene, police said.
