Tampa police: Man charged with pointing gun in road rage incident
A Tampa man was arrested and charged with pointing a handgun at two people Saturday following a road rage incident, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Damian Ricardo Whyte, 34, 9702 21st Street North, was driving his Chrysler 300 in Hillsborough County when a woman honked her horn at him, according to an arrest report. A short time later, Whyte pulled out a black handgun and aimed it at the woman as well as a passenger in her car, deputies said. Whyte left in his Chrysler and was later identified with a photo by the two people in the car and a third witness. Whyte was arrested at his home Saturday night and released from jail Sunday after positing a $4,000 bond. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
