Tampa fire injures child, displaces family

The Tampa Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a blaze that displaced a family.

The Tampa Fire Rescue was called to 3012 W. Crest Ave. around 3:15 p.m. A car at the scene was fully engulfed in flames, the fire rescue said. By 3:45, firefighters had put the fire out.

There were three adults and five children in the home, the fire rescue said. The rescue said everyone escaped safely, but, once outside the house, one of the children sustained an injury that is not life-threatening. The child was transported to a hospital, the rescue said.

The fire rescue said the American Red Cross was notified to help the displaced family.
