A Zephyrhills mother was arrested Tuesday night after punching and using a stun gun on her adult daughter’s face during a fight, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
About 6:30 p.m., Stephanie Thompson, 28, was sitting on the couch at her mother’s home, 6247 Midland St., when her mom, Cynthia Alexander, 48, attempted to snatch a blanket Thompson was using, deputies said.
The pair had been in an argument that night about how Thompson was cleaning the house, according to an arrest report.
When Alexander couldn’t get the blanket from her daughter, she began punching Thompson in the chest and face several times, deputies said. As Thompson attempted to get up from the couch, Alexander pushed her back, the report said.
Thompson told deputies she began scratching her mother’s arms to stop the punching and pushing. Alexander then pulled a Taser from the pocket of her shorts and used it on her daughter in the face, deputies said.
The Taser created a small red mark, resembling a burn on Thompson’s face, the report said.
During the investigation, Thompson told deputies she did not want to press charges against her mother and refused to allow photos of her injuries or allow fire rescue personnel to examine her.
Alexander, who had a warrant for failure to appear regarding a suspended license, was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated battery. She remains in the Land O’ Lakes Jail with no bail set on the aggravated battery. Bail for the failure to appear charge is $513.
