A New Port Richey man was arrested on arson charges Monday after it was discovered he attempted to set fires inside his home and car on numerous occasions, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
Allan Linn Jonas, 49, 12012 Terra Ceia Ave., is accused of setting fires on 60 different spots inside his home, four times inside his car and 17 times outside his home in June, an arrest report said.
Investigators had cited and warned Jonas for illegal burns on his property, deputies said. Neighbors told investigators Jonas attempted to burn the inside of his car with a blow torch, the report said.
Jonas had been arrested on Sept. 11 and charged with first-degree arson of an occupied dwelling. The person in the home escaped the fire, deputies said.
Jonas, charged with second-degree arson of a structure, second-degree arson of a vehicle and arson, was released from the Land O’ Lakes Jail Tuesday after posting $45,000 bond.
