A New Port Richey man was arrested Wednesday for beating his mother after he called 911, according to Pasco authorities.
Richard Lee Wolfe, 49, 6433 River Road, was arrested at the home he shares with his mother and charged with domestic battery on a person older than 65.
Just before 10 p.m., an officer from the New Port Richey Police Department arrived after a 911 call was placed from inside the home. The caller had made the call and then hung up.
The officer found Wolfe inside the home and he was intoxicated, according to an arrest report. Wolfe admitted to making the call and said he and his 89-year-old mother had been in an argument, according to the arrest report.
The mother, Jean Wolfe, was found on the next street behind her home. She told officers her son grabbed her by the hair and slammed her against the ground. Jean Wolfe suffered several bruises and was taken to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital for treatment.
She told authorities she could not walk on her own and had to crawl for several blocks to get away from her son.
Richard Wolfe, who had been issued a trespass warning the day before, was arrested and taken to the Land O’ Lakes Jail where he remains. Bond is $50,150.
