Man hit, killed while walking on I-4 in Tampa
A man who was walking in an eastbound lane of Interstate 4 was hit by two cars and died early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. At about 1 a.m., Christine M. Serra, 25, of Tampa, was driving a Toyota Camry in the center lane, east of Orient Road, when she struck a man who she was unable to see or avoid, troopers said. The man was propelled into the inside lane, where he was then struck by another vehicle, which continued east on I-4, troopers said. The make, model and driver of the second vehicle is not known.The man died at the scene. Authorities don’t know why he was walking on I-4.
