A planned 12-day closing of the northbound Interstate 275 exit to Lois Avenue began at 10:45 p.m. Monday night, the Florida Department of Transportation said.
The closure at Lois (Exit 40B) is part of the ongoing restructuring of I-275 in Tampa. It will allow workers to prepare for a shift in the northbound lanes, FDOT said.
FDOT advises motorists to use Exit 39A to Kennedy Boulevard to access areas west of Dale Mabry Highway, or use the Dale Mabry (Exit 41A) or Armenia Avenue (Exit 42) exits for areas east of Dale Mabry.
Near the end of the 12-day period, there will also be a two-day closure of the northbound I-275 exit to Dale Mabry and an overnight closure of the West Shore Boulevard entrance ramp onto northbound I-275. Dates for these closures will be determined by construction progress.
The Lois closing had be planned for two weeks ago, but the schedule was altered due to weather conditions and changed work plans, FDOT said.
