A Holiday man was arrested after he attempted to use a knife to attack deputies, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
Donald Lee Jackson, 48, 1224 Calvary Rd., Lot 5, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
Deputies responded to Jackson’s mobile home at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a dispute call he made, the arrest report said.
When asked about making the call, Jackson denied he called and walked back inside his trailer. Jackson came back outside, confronting one of the deputies asking, “You want some of this,” the report said.
The deputy had to push Jackson back and moments later, Jackson reached into the right sleeve of his shirt in an attempt to pull a knife, deputies said. Another deputy grabbed his arm and took him to the ground. Following a short struggle, Jackson was handcuffed.
During the tussle, Jackson told deputies he wanted to be shot, the report said.
Jackson later told authorities he was hoping deputies would shoot him because his girlfriend didn’t love him any more.
Jackson remains in the Land O’ Lakes jail with a $25,000 bond.
