Some Tampa Bay area residents could see a wet commute this morning as winds off the Gulf of Mexico are creating extra moisture and small pockets of heavy showers.
The showers are pushing onshore this morning, and will continue to move inland throughout the day, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Rain chances are at 50 percent today, with highs in the low-90s and lows in the mid-70s.
The winds will shift from the southeast later today, resulting in stronger showers forming to the east and drifting toward the west coast later tonight.
That shift will remain in effect on Wednesday, increasing the chance of stronger afternoon storms forming inland and pushing west in by evening.
