Homeless camps generated so much debris around a western Tampa church that cleanup crews drawn from several groups are taking days to collect it all.
The work is expected to wrap up today at the First Reformed Church, Hillsborough Avenue and Webb Road.
Last month, crews hauled off more than 3,000 pounds of mattresses, televisions, shopping carts, tarps and carpet.
Those helping church members in the effort include the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Patrol District 3, Hillsborough County government and the Town and Country Youth Council.
