A Pasco County teen was arrested Friday after he attacked a 14-year-old boy in a wooded area in Land O’ Lakes, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the victim was walking to meet friends in a wooded area near Wilderness Lake Boulevard and Night Heron Drive in Land O’ Lakes when he was attacked.
The teen jumped from behind a bush and punched the victim in the face several times, according to an arrest report.
The 16-year-old then tackled the boy and began punching him in the face and kicking him in the back at least three times.
During the attack, the teen went through the boy’s pockets, grabbed his cell phone and threw it, the report said. He then punched the victim one last time, knocking him unconscious, deputies said.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to his left eye, cheek and left side of his abdomen, the report said.
A witness saw the attack and the teen admitted to the beating, according to deputies.
He was arrested and charged with strong armed robbery and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center at the Land O’ Lakes Jail.
