Football fans might get wet – and will be hot – at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers home opener today against the New Orleans Saints as the afternoon rains are scheduled to return.
Forecasters expect a 40 percent chance of rain, and possibly strong storms, after 2 p.m. The Bucs kickoff is 4 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium. The skies should be partly sunny with a high near 92.
The threat of rain remains tonight with a 30 percent chance of showers and a low of 75.
The pattern returns for each day for the week ahead with a 50 percent chance of rain and storms in the afternoon through Wednesday. Highs will be in the low 90s and lows in the mid-70s.
The chance of rain falls a bit to 40 percent on Thursday and then to 30 percent for the remainder of the week.
