TALLAHASSEE - A spokeswoman confirmed today that Attorney General Pam Bondi will run for re-election next year.
Bondi, a former Hillsborough County prosecutor, first won the office in 2010. She beat Democrat Dan Gelber with nearly 55 percent of the vote.
Bondi first became well known statewide as a legal analyst on national news programs. The Temple Terrace native is the only woman now in statewide elected office.
She has yet to draw a Democratic challenger.
State CFO Jeff Atwater and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam also have filed for re-election, and Gov. Rick Scott is expected to seek a second term.
