Clearwater girl's sign language at holiday concert goes viral

A 5-year-old girl from Clearwater became an overnight sensation when an adorable video of her using sign language to interpret a holiday concert for her deaf parents hit YouTube.

The video, which appeared on “NBC Nightly News” and has nearly 3 million views, was apparently uploaded in response to reports of the “fake” sign language interpreter at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela.

Responding to a tweet about the Mandela interpreter, Lori Koch, the girl's mother, tweeted out a link to the video that said “my 5 yr old signed even better for her deaf parents in a xmas show.”

The video shows her daughter, Claire, at a kindergarten holiday concert at Plumb Elementary School, where she signs the words to several holiday songs while hamming it up with some interesting faces.
