Gibsonton woman’s body found at Riverview shopping plaza

Examination of the body of a Gibsonton woman found behind the Summerfield Shopping Plaza in Riverview this morning turned up no physical signs of homicide, Hillsborough County sheriff’s detectives said,

However, they will continue label as suspicious the death of Meaghan E. Casady, 21, whose body was discovered by a sanitation truck driver around 7:20 a.m.

The next step in determining the official cause of death will be toxicology analysis, but it could be 6 to 8 weeks before any results are known, detectives said.

The plaza is located at the intersection of Big Bend Road and Summerfield Boulevard.

Homicide detectives are processing the scene for any latent forensic evidence, but are asking for anyone with knowledge of Casady’s activities during the last 24 hours to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.

Anyone with any information who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), or to report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text “CSTB” plus their tip to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
