Afternoon storms should pass in time for fireworks
After a sunny morning, the usual summer pattern will return with about a 50 percent chance of rain - and possible downpours - for the entire Tampa Bay Area this afternoon. Luckily, the rain is expected to taper off around sundown, making for good conditions for tonight's Independence Day fireworks displays, WFLA meteorologists said. It's going to warm up to about 90 degrees before the afternoon rain hits.
