If you’re already singing along to the entire Hamilton soundtrack alone, why not meet like-minded folks and do it together?
A Hamilton singalong goes down tonight at the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library in Tampa. Fans will gather to sing the entire — yes, entire — musical together, backed by an instrumental tracks in a event billed as "Hamiltunes."
Over the summer, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda announced that Atlantic Records had released The Hamilton Instrumentals, a lyric-less version of the Tony-winning hit about the life and death of Alexander Hamilton. Producers also officially signed off on the many fan singalongs that had already been going on all over the country.
In Tampa Friday, fans are encouraged to dress in costume. Sign up to sing lead parts in the two act, 2.5-hour singalong. There’s also a costume contest, social media contest, arts and crafts and a Revolutionary War/Hamilton-themed escape room. The team of six or fewer to escape the quickest wins a prize. Free from 6:30-9:30 p.m. 2902 W Bearss Ave., Tampa. (813) 273-3652.
