Comic duo Jay and Silent Bob are going on tour to show their new animated film, with a stop planned for the Palladium in St. Petersburg on July 6.

Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, who earned a cult following through their pairing in such films as “Clerks,” “Dogma” and “Mallrats,” will be showing their latest collaboration, “Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie.”

The movie features Mewes and Smith as their familiar drug-influenced characters while assuming the roles of comic book superheros Bluntman and Chronic.

Mewes also produced the film, which was directed by first-time filmmaker Steve Stark.

Each stop on the tour will feature a screening of the film, which will not be released in theaters, followed by a live performance and question-and-answer session.

Tickets go on sale Saturday. Reserved tickets priced at $59, $35 and $25 will be available at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office, 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, by calling (727) 791-7400 or at rutheckerdhall.com.
