Action Film Challenge returning to Tampa

On June 1, the clock starts ticking.

That's the start date for the fourth annual Action Film Challenge, a Tampa-based film fest challenging amateur film makers to write, shoot, edit and deliver a completed action film in only 30 days.

To spice things up, teams are given a list of production elements they must include in their eight to 15-minute films. In the past that has meant everything from using an American flag as a prop to including a pizza delivery guy as a character.

The challenge is open to teams from anywhere in the world, though past entries have mostly come from within the Tampa Bay area.

The challenge wraps up with a public screening of the films and an awards ceremony July 14 in Tampa. The best films will be awarded cash prizes of up to $2000.
