Traffic wasn’t to blame for delay in Blake Shelton taking festival stage
PLANT CITY - It’s true that Blake Shelton’s bus got stuck in the gridlock on his way to his March 10 concert at the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds. But that wasn’t the reason Shelton didn’t take the stage until about an hour after the concert started at 7:30 p.m. His opening act, singer Michaela Paige, a 17-year-old who Shelton coached on NBC’s reality show, “The Voice,” sang for about 30 minutes. Then it took about 30 minutes to change out the equipment Shelton needed for his performance. Once he took to the stage, Shelton sang for about 90 minutes.
