Sunday fundraiser to help replace money stolen at Elvis festival
An Elvis fan club is planning to hold a fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday with an auction, drawing and tribute artists. The event at the American Legion Post 111, 6918 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, will help raise money to stage an Elvis festival planned for July 20 in Plant City and for a charity, the Children’s Home of Tampa. The organizers of the annual Elvis fest are still reeling from the theft of about $4,000 at last year’s Elvis extravaganza at the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds. Vickie May, president and founder of Elvis Tampa Bay TCB Fan Club, said she hopes to raise enough money Sunday to replace the stolen cash. Admission to the fundraiser is $10 per person. Seats are limited. For information, call (813) 977-6011 or go to www.ElvisTampatcb.com.
