Storm lose at San Jose, end three-game win streak
Russ Michna threw five touchdown passes for the San Jose SaberCats in a 64-34 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm on Friday at HP Pavilion. Tampa Bay (5-3) ended a three-game win streak and lost on the road for the first time this season. Storm quarterback Adrian McPherson completed 13 of 29 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions. He was limited on the ground, however, running for only 5 yards on two carries, both touchdowns. The latter gave him 23 rushing scores, setting an Arena Football League season mark for quarterbacks.Former Storm receiver Huey Whittaker caught seven passes for 84 yards and a touchdown and scored by recovering a fumble in the end zone. The fumble recovery gave San Jose a 28-7 lead in the second quarter. Ken Fontenette had two interceptions for San Jose (5-2), returning one for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
