Letters to the editor: Scouting and gays
Scouting and gays I am an 80-year-old grandmother of three Eagle Scouts. My husband is a charter member of the Order of the Arrow. That is how long our family has been involved in Scouting. Please do not let this gay issue dissolve one of the few organizations we have left in this country that helps us produce our great heroes. Homosexuals have been with us since the beginning of time. The only difference now is they are doing their best to divide us. Why they are doing this is the question, because we will all suffer in the end. We can’t let this happen. When I discussed this with our grandsons, their answer was, “It’s OK, Grandma; we understand and know how to work with them.” Now I challenge the homosexual community to learn to work with the program as it stands. Do not continue to push your agenda. The rest of us have rights, too.Let this be a lesson for all of us. God sometimes puts challenges out there and says, “Figure this out for yourselves.” Just do it for God and country.
