Florida is thinking about raising the speed limit to 75 mph on certain roads. The liberal Democrat environmentalists should be livid, but they are silent. Raising the limit from 55 mph to 75 decreases miles-per-gallon at least 1.5 percent for every mile over 55. And tire life, per the manufacturer, decreases from 10 percent to 30 percent. If you drop your speed from 75 to 55, your gas mileage increases about 40 percent. The main thing on gas mpg is wind resistance on the car, which doubles from 55 mph to 75 mph. And the repair and maintenance costs increase by 10 percent at least.
It just goes to show how the government, whether state or (shudder) federal, doesn’t have a clue about most every thing it does. November 2014 is approaching fast. America can’t go on with the uneducated idiots we have in government.
