Seeking closure after parasailing accident

This is in response to the recent parasailing accident in Panama City. I was also in a parasailing accident where the line snapped. However, ours went unreported, and I wonder how many of these are swept under the rug. The interesting part was that the parasailing company told me not to worry, that they would take care of all our medical expenses. Well, when I called to find out where the bills should be sent to, they rudely told me it was not their problem. Unbeknownst to me, I had a one-day lapse in coverage for my medical insurance. I hired an attorney, which was pointless. So, I was stuck with thousands of dollars of medical bills that took me years to pay off. I had to deal with the injuries and going to therapy, and I had a hard time dealing with almost drowning. The three of us could have lost our lives, including my young son.
This has left me very bitter and wishing I could do more to change the law or be an advocate in some way. I never had closure for this. That is something I could use. Beverly Marvel Plant City
