The last time I went to the VA was for an 10:30 a.m. eye appointment. I arrived on time, and the large waiting room was overflowing to the outside. After waiting about 45 minutes, I asked the people next to me how long they had been waiting. Answer: since their 8 a.m. appointment.
I decided to check with the honcho and went into his office. I asked what was going on, and was he aware of what his waiting room looked like. All I got was a demand that I get out of his office.
I then went into the waiting room and announced what had just transpired. I suggested that everyone should go into the office and let the boss know how happy you were to be able to get an appointment and were being served.
I suspect that I walked in on a day when the VA was solving the appointment backlog problem.
