Regarding “Think life is worse than it was a few years ago? Think again” (Other Views, Dec. 7): Obviously, the writer, Virginia Postrel, must be age 20-something to think that technology and technology alone is what is important and makes life better. Try asking someone 55-plus like myself. I do not have an iPhone or a smartphone. Nor do I Twitter or Facebook or have a DVR. Nor do I care. To me, this is not important, nor does it make life better.
I think life was better 50 years ago, and I’d gladly go back. But, then again, maybe the whole article was meant to be sarcasm, in which case, thanks for the laugh.
