I saw that the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent Office has “killed the Redskins trademark.” It is another defeat for freedom of choice in America.
I would think that naming a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but no, someone may be offended.
And why stop there?
What about the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns?
Also, Christians may be offended by the names of the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim or the San Diego Padres.
While we are at it, why do we glorify criminals who raped and pillaged by naming teams after them, such as the Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
Come on, patent office! You have a lot of work to do.
