When Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman met, suppose the following conversation had taken place:
Martin: Are you following me for some reason?
Zimmerman: I'm the neighborhood watch officer. There have been a lot of break-ins around here lately, and I haven't seen you around here before.
Martin: Yeah, I'm just here with my father; he's visiting with his girlfriend in that apartment over there.
Zimmerman: Oh, that's OK. Been watching the game on TV?
Zimmerman: Well, take care - get out of the rain.
Martin: Yeah, you, too.
The question that our educational system, all of the demonstrators, attorneys, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and, yes, Mr. And Mrs. Martin, need to ask themselves is: Why didn't this conversation take place?
