We lost a fine man Friday when Rick Casares passed away. He was a man with many records and many honors.
He was our Jefferson Dragon superstar who excelled in all sports, no matter what he tried. He put us on the map. His great career as a Chicago Bear and Florida Gator — highly honored. We are most proud to call him our own not only because he was a super person but a Jeffersonian first, last and always.
God must have needed him on his team. If so, he got a real winner.
Rest easy, Rick.
