Poor Hillary Clinton. First, she loses the 2008 Democratic presidential primary to an unknown community organizer from Chicago whose early mentors were a documented domestic terrorist and a convicted felon now serving time in a federal prison. Now, she is at increasing risk of losing the 2016 Democratic primary to well-known “Native American” Elizabeth Warren, the far-left senator from Massachusetts.
Why? In large part, because the far-left wing of her party orchestrated Barack Obama’s victory in 2008 and is beginning the push for Warren’s in 2016.
In 2008 and 2012, if the election for president had only been between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, as a conservative, I would have gladly voted for Clinton. Her judgment, certitude, work ethic and understanding of the world dwarf the manufactured credentials of Obama, much as they do now over Warren.
And yet, mostly because of Clinton’s Iraq war vote, liberals are imploring Warren to run against her.
For Clinton to be facing this ideological nightmare again must seem like the movie “Groundhog Day” on steroids.
This year, the ultra-wealthy Clinton was rightfully lambasted for cravenly inventing money problems to identify with the unwashed masses. In early 2012, while the wealthy former Republican Warren was running as the Democratic Senate candidate in Massachusetts, she naturally tried the same tactic.
Warren said this to MSNBC with regard to why members of the Senate should not own stock: “I realize there are some wealthy individuals — I am not one of them — but some wealthy individuals who have a lot of stock portfolios.”
Wow. How did she say “I am not one of them” with a straight face? Based on her financial disclosure form and public records, she is worth more than $14 million, she lives in a $5 million home, and her own “portfolio” in stocks and bonds is worth about $8 million.
I have often said the only ones who can afford to live by the destructive liberal dictates they push are the wealthy progressives who don’t have to suffer the consequences of their populist rhetoric and who wall themselves off from the people.
Clinton and Warren are just two of the hundreds of high-profile liberal multimillionaire politicians, activists and celebrities on that list.
Aside from that gaffe, the undocumented member of the Cherokee Nation also seems to be channeling Moses of late. At a recent convention of liberal bloggers and activists, Warren issued her own set of commandments. Topping the original 10 Commandments Moses brought down from Mount Sinai, Warren decided to go with 11.
Below are some of Warren’s Commandments for Progressives followed by commonsense questions and commentary.
♦ “We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth.”
If you “believe” in science, why is it often “closed” in the liberal world to the hundreds of accomplished scientists who dare to question the religion of “global warming?”
♦ “We believe that the Internet shouldn’t be rigged to benefit big corporations…”
Great. Does that include companies like Google and Facebook, which bankroll much of the Democratic Party?
♦ “We believe that no one should work full time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage.”
Much like Obamacare forcing small companies to lay off workers or cut their hours, what will you say to the tens of thousands who will become unemployed because of the “living wage” dictated by liberals?
♦ “We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt.”
I agree, but you might want to target the liberal college presidents and liberal professors who dominate the field while openly discriminating against conservative and Christian thought.
♦ “We believe — I can’t believe I have to say this in 2014 — we believe in equal pay for equal work.”
Again, I could not agree more. That said, you might want to call Obama and ask him why his White House pays women less than men for the same job. And while we are on the subject of equality, do you believe men and women should pass the exact same physical fitness tests to be police officers, firefighters or members of our military?
♦ “We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting … pensions.”
As the vast majority of Americans will never get a pension, do you mean protecting the gold-plated pensions of public employees which are crippling almost every single city, county and state in the nation?
Much like Obama before her, the far left’s latest darling is an empty vessel they are filling with populist dreck.
While Hillary Clinton may be a highly flawed candidate, she is head and shoulders above Elizabeth Warren.
