INTERFAITH CELEBRATION: The annual Rev. Dr. Martin Lutheran King Jr. Interfaith Celebration will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4902 N. 40th St., Tampa. The program is free and open to the public, and will include choir presentations, musical performances, speakers from multiple denominations and an awards presentation to Leon Russell, winner of the 2013 Robert Saunders Award. MASQUERADE BALL FUNDRAISER: The 23{+r}{+d} annual Lincoln-Douglass Ball, a formal event that celebrates the interracial friendship between President Abraham Lincoln and social reformer-writer Frederick Douglass, will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Embassy Suites Tampa-USF, 3705 Spectrum Blvd., Tampa. This masquerade ball includes a glamorous evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing, and will benefit Cornerstone Kids Inc., a nonprofit after-school program for inner-city kids. The program is an outreach ministry of St. James House of Prayer Episcopal Church in Tampa. Tickets cost $65 person; $650 for a table of 10. The Rev. Kathleen Weller, director of Peace River Spirituality Center, is the speaker and director of this event, which will focus on spiritual disciplines and ways in which we commune with God.
