HSTB offering half-price adoptions at weekend fun fest

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is hosting a weekend event of half off adoptions, race cars, food, music and more.

Pet adoptions will be half-price on Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily the Verizon Show Car will be on-site for photo opportunities.

There will also be Verizon giveaways, activities for kids, food and music.

Normal adoption fees are as follows - during the weekend event the fees will be reduced by half:

Dogs 25 lbs. and less: $150

Puppies aged 4 months and younger: $150

All other dogs: $75

Kittens aged 6 months and younger: $50

Cats: $30

Rabbits: $25

Guinea pigs: $15

Hamsters and rats: $10

Potbellied pigs: $100

Adoptables have been vaccinated, de-wormed, de-fleaed, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Pets who are four months of age or older receive a rabies vaccine. Dogs receive a DHLPP vaccine and are heartworm-tested at five months of age or older. Cats are tested for FeLv and cats six months of age and older are tested for FIV.

The shelter is located at 3607 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa.
