Free and Cheap: Father's Day offers for dads

Give your pop the day off from mowing the lawn, cleaning the garage and all his other usual weekend dad duties on Father's Day Sunday (June 15).

We've rounded up some inexpensive options with these free offers for dads:

Start the day with free breakfast at any of the 195 Tampa Bay area McDonald's restaurants. Dads accompanied by a child will be treated to a free breakfast sandwich or entrée along with a small orange juice, coffee or soda on Sunday during breakfast hours. PDQ restaurants is offering dad a free combo meal with a purchase of any kids meal. A combo meal includes salad, sandwich or three-piece tenders, fries and drink. Check out the PDQ website for a location near you.

Beef O' Brady's is treating dad to a free meal (up to $10) with the purchase of another meal of equal or lesser value. The offer is good at participating locations only, so call ahead or ask before ordering.

The Tampa Bay History Center is celebrating dads with free admission for them with a paid admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday or Sunday. In addition to the permanent exhibits telling the story of the first settlers of the Tampa Bay area, enjoy 'The Art of the Highwaymen' which opens at the museum Father's Day weekend. Lowry Park Zoo is offering free admission to dads of children (or adults) when they visit the zoo on Saturday or Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dad's ticket is free with the purchase of their son's or daughter's full-priced admission. Dads of all ages are invited to enjoy free admission at the Henry B. Plant Museum from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday - with or without their kids. Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

The Florida Aquarium is admitting dads for free on Father's Day weekend (Saturday and Sunday) with the purchase of a full-paid admission, when they mention the offer at the ticket window. Fathers who visit Dade City's Wild Things with a kid in tow on Sunday will be treated to a free alligator encounter with either a Sunken Jungle Tour or Jungle Safari tour purchase. Dade City's Wild Things, 37245 Meridian Ave., Dade City

Fathers are admitted free with a paid child's admission to the Glazer Children's Museum from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Glazer Children's Museum, 110 Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa.

Is dad an outdoorsman? You can also take him freshwater fishing for free on Saturday and Sunday. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission waives the fees for licenses on that weekend.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse is giving dads a free limited edition pint glass on Saturday and Sunday. You can also enter the “Best Memories with Dad” photo contest by liking BJ's on Facebook for your chance to win a $100 gift card.

Head over to historic Ybor City for a free lasagne or spaghetti entrée for dad at the Spaghetti Warehouse on Sunday. If you enter the “Incredible Dad Photo Contest,” you can get a free appetizer (with the purchase of a meal) and chance to win a lasagne entrée for each month of the year. Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering buy-one-get-one breakfast or lunch sandwiches with a coupon, also available on your mobile phone. The deal runs through June 25.

Kids and dads can learn about bike safety together at the June 28 event at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County Family Resource Center, 1002 E. Palm Ave., Tampa. From 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., fathers and children over 2 are invited to enjoy a light breakfast, watch a bike safety video and get fitted for new helmets.
