TAMPA – Liberty Middle School held a “Dare to Dream” campaign the week of Jan. 27 to inform students about their college options.
Hosted by the Advancement Via Individual Determination or AVID program, it also showed them how to be successful once they get there. AVID helps students improve their writing, reading, math, and study skills that are necessary to succeed in high school, college, and in professional careers. AVID students also participate in volunteering and community events.
On the first day of the campaign, students were encouraged to wear a college shirt. Faculty shared information about colleges on the Morning Show.
The next day, students dressed professionally while they learned about creating goals for future careers.
The following day’s message was “the future is bright,” so students were asked to wear neon colors. Liberty students shared their goals for the future with their peers.
On the last day students wore LMS team shirts. Teachers were featured on the Morning Show talking about their college experiences.
