K. Hovnanian Homes opens new communities in Tampa Bay area
In the northeastern United States, where K. Hovnanian Homes has been building new homes for more than 50 years, the company’s reputation is beyond reproach, according to Lisette Minnick, director of sales and marketing for the Tampa and Southeast Florida divisions. “When people come into our office and we ask them how they heard of us, folks from the Northeast say they know the K. Hovnanian name or that they already own a K. Hovnanian home and wouldn’t buy any other brand,” Minnick adds. “That is how strong our reputation is around the country. People know they will be treated fairly, and they know they are buying a quality-built home at a great value.” For the last 10 years, K. Hovnanian Homes has been working toward building that same reputation among Florida homebuyers. Currently the company is building in nine Tampa Bay area communities and is eager to expand its presence in the Tampa market. “We are focused on growth and taking advantage of land opportunities to open more communities,” Minnick says. “During the last six months, we have opened four new communities, including The Reserve in Harbor Isles in the Apollo Beach area, Newberry at Panther Trace in the South Shore area, TerraLargo in Lakeland and Cypress Creek near Ruskin.”Although the company wants to increase the number of Tampa Bay area K. Hovnanian homes that are available, they must be desirable communities where people are anxious to live, such as TerraLargo in Lakeland. “It’s a beautiful, lifestyle-driven community in the heart of Lakeland with resort-style amenities such as a clubhouse with a fitness center, a resort-style pool, a beautiful covered playground for children, walking and biking trails and fishing piers,” Minnick explains. “We are offering two product lines of single-family homes on 50- and 70-foot-wide home sites, with prices starting from the upper-$100,000s.” The recently opened furnished model, The Aruba, is one of K. Hovnanian’s three best-selling designs in the Tampa Bay area, according to Minnick. “It’s a Mediterranean-style themed home with a wine-tasting room and unique interior and exterior finishes such as interior brick pavers and beautiful wood flooring,” Minnick adds. “Adding to the curb appeal, this home will have a tile roof, bronze windows and a brick paver driveway as included features. It’s a very impressive model with some unique trendy interior finishes. It’s very different from what you will find on the market today. The home, which includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a home office and a three-car garage, is priced from the low $200,000s.” Two furnished models will soon be completed at Cypress Creek, located off 19th Avenue and Cypress Creek Boulevard in the Ruskin area. “This community is centrally located, with easy access to major highways,” Minnick says. “We will be offering two product lines in Cypress Creek, with a variety of one- and two-story home designs, from 1,700 to 3,000 square feet, on 40- and 50-foot-wide home sites. We have begun presales at Cypress Creek, through our sales office in the adjacent Harbor Isles community.” Minnick points out that a major factor for homebuyers is a home’s energy efficiency, and how that efficiency translates into savings year after year. “Our K. Hovnanian High Performance Homes are eco-friendly and energy efficient, which obviously helps our buyers save money. I truly feel that our focus and efforts on energy efficiency have made a huge difference,” Minnick adds. The energy-saving features of a K. Hovnanian? High Performance Home include a 14 SEER air-conditioning system, R-30 attic insulation, R-11 exterior frame wall insulation, vinyl Low E windows, sealed and insulated heat and air-conditioning duct work and a professionally landscaped home site using Florida-friendly plants. The Florida Green Building Coalition obviously agrees, since the Tampa Bay Division of K. Hovnanian Homes was named the coalition’s Green Builder of the Year for 2011 and earned the Builder of The Year Award for the most new single-family homes to earn a green certification. Along with quality-built, energy-efficient homes in desirable neighborhoods, Minnick says that a key reason why interested homebuyers should consider K. Hovnanian Homes is “the fact that we have a home for buyers who are in any stage of their new home search. They can choose their home design and their home site and build and customize their home at a great value, or they can take advantage of the great incentives that we are offering on move-in ready homes for those who may be looking for a completed home or a near-completed home and want to be in quickly. “Our business model is to have homes in every stage of construction in every community so that our buyers have choices to find the right home that will be ready for them at the right time.” For information, visit www.khov.com/tampa, or call 1-877-669-5468.
