• The Hillsborough County School Board is set to hold its last meeting before the Thanksgiving break at 3 p.m. today, but it may not be very festive. Hundreds of teachers are expected to attend in protest over an ongoing pay dispute. Students across the county have held demonstrations in support of the teachers. • Former Tampa Fire Rescue firefighter Tanja Vidovic's sexual discrimination lawsuit against the city of Tampa goes to trial in U.S. District court today. She was one of several female firefighters who raised concerns in 2015 about the department's treatment of women. She sued and got fired. Follow the trial this week at tampabay.com.

• Pop music critic Jay Cridlin talked to rocker Sammy Hagar before his show tonight in Clearwater's Coachman Park with his supergroup of former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar whiz Vic Johnson and drummer Jason (son of John) Bonham. • Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon brought his charitable "Thanksmas" event back to the Tampa Bay area on Monday. When Maddon was the Tampa Bay Rays' skipper, he served his family's recipes to the homeless every year. Now he's bringing that tradition back to homeless shelters in St. Petersburg and Tampa. • Following a year of record revenues, Tampa Port Authority President and CEO Paul Anderson is getting outstanding reviews from his board members. But a couple of them, including Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, say they want to see better leadership in light of news reports about excessive port executives' spending on golf club memberships, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey tickets and fine dining on the port's tab.
