USF names interim leaders for medical school, health programs
University of South Florida President Judy Genshaft on Friday named two college veterans as interim leaders of the medical school and health programs. Neurosurgery Professor Harry Loveren will oversee the College of Medicine. Donna Peterson, dean of USF's School of Public Health, will serve as chief executive officer of USF Health, Genshaft said in a statement. They will replace outgoing dean and CEO Stephen Klasko, who in September takes over as president of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. The duo, both longtime leaders within USF Health, will serve while a search committee looks for a permanent replacement. Genshaft announced that search group will be led by her senior advisor, Karen Holbrook, and vice-chairman John Sinnott, leader of the College of Medicine's Department of Internal Medicine.
